Live Mara des Bois Strawberry Plugs – Day-Neutral Strawberry Plants for the Longest Strawberry Season!
Hand Picked Nursery | Sweet, Fragrant, French-Bred Variety | High-Yield, Long-Season Producer
Experience the unmatched aroma and sweetness of Mara des Bois Strawberries, a premium French-bred variety known for its rich flavor, glossy red fruit, and exceptional fragrance. As a day-neutral (everbearing) variety, Mara des Bois produces small to medium-sized berries continuously from summer through fall — and again the following spring — giving you one of the longest and most flavorful strawberry seasons available.
Perfect for home gardeners and gourmet growers alike, Mara des Bois combines the intense, wild-strawberry aroma of European varieties with the productivity and resilience needed for U.S. climates. These live strawberry plugs come with well-established roots for faster growth and earlier fruiting.
Product Features
- Live Strawberry Plugs: Fully rooted and ready to plant — faster establishment than bare root plants.
- Day-Neutral (Everbearing) Variety: Produces fruit continuously from summer through fall.
- Rich Flavor & Fragrance: Famous French variety with unmatched sweetness and aroma.
- Attractive, Glossy Berries: Small to medium fruit with deep red color and high shine.
- Excellent Freezing Quality: Maintains flavor and texture for long-term storage.
- Cold-Hardy & Adaptable: Performs best in USDA Zones 4–7; ideal for gardens, raised beds, or containers.
Planting & Care Instructions
- Choose a sunny location with at least 6–8 hours of light daily.
- Use well-draining soil with a pH of 6.5–6.8; mix in at least 30% sand and rich compost.
- Plant plugs at soil level, packing soil firmly around the roots.
- Water 1–3 times per week, not daily, to prevent overwatering.
- Avoid soaking plants for more than 1 hour before planting.
- Pinch off early flowers to encourage root growth — each pinched flower produces two more later.
- Expect your first harvest about 12–14 weeks after planting, with berries continuing through the season.
- Fertilize only after plants are well established to avoid fertilizer burn.
